Rewriting how buildings get approved — with AI.
Starting from Japan's building-permit review, into the last frontier of a ¥100-trillion industry. Then, the world.
01
Why architecture × AI
Construction and real estate is a ¥100-trillion industry in Japan alone — one of the country's largest, and the least digitized. At its center sits review: the checkpoint every building must pass, still powered by weeks of manual work against more than 100,000 statutes and local ordinances.
Harvey in legal, Sierra in customer service — vertical AI agents that take on entire professional workflows are growing explosively worldwide. Building review is the blank space that wave hasn't reached. That's where we chose to begin.
02
What vertical AI agents make possible
General-purpose AI "knows" the building code — but it can't review. Extracting attributes from drawings with sources, cross-checking them against statutes, and flagging issues with confidence scores and citations takes deeply domain-specific engineering. mign already automates hundreds of review items at over 90% accuracy.
And the system compounds: every customer's data and every piece of reviewer feedback makes the AI more accurate, which drives more usage, which builds more data. That flywheel is the core of our moat.
03
The last moment to shape what this company becomes
mign is in its customer-validation phase. Companies including Bureau Veritas Japan use our product on paid contracts while we scientifically validate product–market fit. In April 2026 we raised ¥230M led by Angel Bridge.
Join now and you don't ride a finished business — you decide its shape. That discretion, and that responsibility, belong to the core members who join at this stage.
04
From review to all of architecture. From Japan to the world.
Automating permit review is only the entry point. On the accuracy and trust built here, we expand: to the applicant side — developers and design firms — to review and inspection work beyond building permits, and to global markets including the US and Asia.
Buildings pose the same problems everywhere. Technology that automated one of the world's strictest review regimes travels as it is.

Strategy as science
We treat strategy as a testable hypothesis about what to abandon and what to bet on. Decisions run on hypothesis-and-validation loops, not intuition — randomized controlled trials show founders trained in the scientific approach outperform those who aren't. A company founded by a researcher should run its management like research.

Built by PhDs
Half our technical members hold doctorates; 80% come from the University of Tokyo, IIT, Hanoi University of Science and Technology and peers. Our founder Masahiro Taima earned his PhD in engineering at the University of Tokyo, served as assistant professor at Keio and Kyoto University and researcher at UCL and Peking University.
"I couldn't feel who my research was actually helping" — mign was born from that question, as the direct way to change society.
