Cultivating architecture professionals ready for a new era

In March 2022, mign Inc. (Bunkyo-ku, Tokyo; CEO Masahiro Taima) supported the development of digital learning materials designed to promote the use of BIM and other cutting-edge software, as examined by a Special Investigation Committee of the Architectural Institute of Japan. Because education in Japan has often failed to keep pace with international standards for teaching students to make full use of digital technologies, mign is exploring how to bring these digital learning materials into wider use and help educate a generation of architecture professionals equipped for a new era.

The Architectural Institute of Japan is expected to move quickly to globalize the academic journals it publishes, strengthen its capacity for international outreach, and support universities and research institutions. As one initiative toward these goals, it is developing digital learning materials built with features tailored to architectural education that promote the use of state-of-the-art software such as BIM and rendering tools.
