mign, a developer of generative AI software for the construction and civil engineering industries, and its representative spoke at the 88th Artificial Intelligence Seminar [archived video to be distributed].

Archived Seminar: "Getting it right with ChatGPT - Technology overview and practical examples" - Technology overview of generative AI and examples of industrial applications of generative AI.

(Head office: Bunkyo-ku, Tokyo), a software developer for the construction and civil engineering industries using cutting-edge technologies such as AI and VR, spoke at the 88th Artificial Intelligence Seminar "Understanding What ChatGPT Can Do - Technology Overview and Practical Examples" held on June 19, 2023 (hosted by the Japanese Society for Artificial Intelligence).

The seminar was recorded and the edited video will be available as a special video for paid seminar members and on the official JSAI (Japanese Society for Artificial Intelligence) channel on YouTube.

The seminar is designed for those who would like to hear an overview of the technology of "sentence generation AI" by experts, and for engineers who are considering industrial applications of "ChatGPT" and other "generation AI".

  • Outline of the 88th Artificial Intelligence Seminar "Properly Understanding What ChatGPT Can Do - Technology Overview and Practical Examples" (archived)

With the rapid spread of "Generative AI" (represented by ChatGPT), more people than ever are beginning to consider the use of AI; for example, it is reported that ChatGPT can perform existing "Natural Language Processing (NLP)" tasks such as translation and summarization, as well as tasks not previously envisioned, using a single model.

However, there are still many uncertainties in the use of "generative AI," such as the classification of tasks that can be executed by "generative AI" and those that cannot, the search for optimal instructions (prompts) to be given to "generative AI," etc. Voluntary trial and error efforts are ongoing, but there are still few examples that have reached the stage of industrial application.

In this seminar, we invited Mr. Hiroya Takamura of AIST, a leading expert in natural language processing and machine learning, to give an overview of the technology of "sentence generation AI" such as ChatGPT, and to discuss what has been newly realized with ChatGPT and his thoughts on industrial applications from the perspective of academia.

In the case studies, several engineers from companies that have already started industrial application of "Sentence Generation AI" took the stage to talk about their application methods and the trial-and-error process of providing services, aiming to deepen participants' knowledge of how to apply "Generative AI".

  • mign develops software for the construction and civil engineering industries.

We are developing software for the construction and civil engineering industries that quickly incorporates cutting-edge technologies centered on AI, VR, and AR. In particular, we are focusing on the use of "Generative AI" technologies, such as the AI chatbot "ChatGPT" and image-generating AI software "Stable Diffusion," to speed up development.
